Netscape
3.1 Set-up for Windows 95/NT
If you already
use Netscape click
here
- Click
here
to download Netscape 3.1. (Important Note: Remember
where you save this file in your hard drive. You will
need this information later.)
- Once the
program is copied onto your computer, click the "Start"
button.
- Select
"Settings", then "Control Panels".
- Double click
on "Add/Remove Programs" and then click "Install".Click
"Next"
- The Computer
will look for anything in your Floppy Drive, then it will
look on your CD-Rom drive.
- Click
"Browse".
- Remembering
where you stored the file on your hard drive (From step
1) find the file "n32e301p.exe" and double click on
it.
- This will take
you through the install wizard. Answer the questions and
continue through the set-up.
- When you are
finished installing Netscape, click "Start", then click
"Programs".
- Select
"Netscape" from the program list.
- Once Netscape
is Open, click on "Options" at the top.
- Select "Mail
and News Preferences" then go into "Servers".
- The SMTP
Server is "mail.eos.net".
- The POP server
is "eos.net
- The POP user
ID is your username. (Do not include "@eos.net") in
that.
- Have it check
mail at any interval you wish.
- Click on the
"Identity" tab at the top.
- Fill in your
name, email, and reply-to addres. The reply-to address is
the same as your email.
- Congratulations,
your finished, press "apply" at the bottom ("OK" if there
is no "apply") and check your email.
To check your mail:
- Open Netscape Communicator.
- Click on "Communicator."
- Choose "Messenger Mailbox."
- In the new message window that appears, click the button labeled "Get Msg."
- Enter your password in the pop-up box and press "OK."
